The problem with these hyper realistic reimaginings of Disney Classics is that those animals are incapable to show emotion as means of facial features. It’s what pulled me out of The Lion King and it’ll be an issue with The Little Mermaid as well. Lucky there we have humans too.

In the original there’s a moment where the music has a ‘swerving’ motive, underlining a shot of Zazu in flight. In the live action: same motive, but with totally different, unrelated imagery. And that movie is full of moments like that missing the mark or the point, it’s insane
